Will registry modification harm softwares reputation?

I added some DEP (Data Execution Prevention) check to my software, so when it detects that DEP has not the standard setting, it does the shell comand (bcdedit /set nx OptIn) – so far this will only set it to the windows standard setting.

I also added a message box, which will ask first, if software is allowed to do this.

But I just think this could harm my software reputation (e.g. Antivirus-Softwares will mark it as Virus, or even Windows Defender does.)

What you think? Could registry changes like this above harm Softwares reputation?
