Using variables for content field in Mandrill will only return initialized value?

I’m trying to send a simple E-Mail with Javascript+Mandrill using a variable for the “text” field (simply “text”: $scope.results). However, the mail will only display the initial value of the variable when sent, even after the value was updated through actions on the website. Is there any way to change this?

For more context: I’m making a site where people are supposed to rate certain things. When they are finished, the information from their actions (which just involve clicking buttons) are saved to a String. I want this String sent to myself to evaluate the results and thought this would be possible with Mandrill. However, since the String is initialized empty and only filled through actions on the site, the mail sent even after the value of the String is updated will only contain the initial null.
