Retrieving and Executing Business logic in database

The problem at first seems simple. I feel like I’m missing something.

Inside the database there are rows consisting of Id, Command and a value to compare the data with. There are a great deal of methods these commands need to be mapped to. The data that the logic is being applied to is not stored in the database.

The question is how do I appropriately retrieve business rules and map them to the various methods in my application without a enormous switch statement or is there a design pattern which would alleviate this problem. Thanks.
