currently I’m working on my first ASP.NET MVC 4 project. I have a relative complex datamodel and respectivly a complex create/edit-form for one specific entity.
It contains ordinary textboxes for text, dropdownlists to choose one item from a list and – here comes the problem – a table to select multiple items from a list.
This is a screenshot of the form (the red border marks the problem):
There is a textbox to filter the table. My problem is: to implement the filter-textbox, I need to nest a form (which contains the filter-textbox and the “filter”-button) inside the actual formular. And we all know that nested forms are a problem in HTML.
Generally I don’t feel quite comfortable with this approach. I would need to add a new route to filter the table via the controller, and I try to avoid adding new routes, particulary for those special requirements.
Does someone has a practical approach for my problem? I think this is a “common” problem so there should be a common solution for this problem.
Thank you and greetings,
